Ecological furnishing of a narrow terrace at the University of West Scotland

GOplastic Ltd were contacted by the former Head of Estates and Campus Services Donna Vallance. She wanted to discuss the supply of sustainable and environmentally friendly seating and tables for their London Campus buildings based near India Dock in East London. Initial obstacles which could have gone unnoticed were noted. The terrace had a narrow width which meant most of the seating and tables would have to allow for free movement around the terraces by students and staff after installation. The terrace was also on the 7th floor of the building which needed considered planning in relation to delivery and access of the materials. To overcome these challenges GOplastic offered the Canvas Table and Canvas 120 benches, which could be delivered in semi kit form and be transported to the 7th floor in the internal service lifts. Seating and tables to accommodate up to 50 people was delivered and installed in just one day. Waste plastic prevented from landfill 1.7 tonnes.
