Sustainable seating boards at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris

The 2024 Olympic Games were a global stage for top performances – not only in sports but also in innovation and sustainability. We are proud that our boards contributed to this event! Our seating planks, made from high-quality recycled plastic, were prominently visible on the tennis grandstands.

A durable choice for the tennis courts

For this prestigious project, the French company Plaseco once again chose Govaplast material. The concrete stands of the tennis courts were fitted with seating boards, securely attached to a metal profile with rounded screws. To ensure maximum comfort and safety, the cut edges of the boards were rounded, eliminating sharp corners. Additionally, the galvanized metal profiles inside the boards provide extra stability. To create a seamless visual match with the grey concrete structure, Plaseco and the client opted for Mineral Grey – a neutral, light grey shade that blends perfectly with its surroundings.

Impressive figures

This project included more than 1,000 planks, each 3.6 meters long. That means:

Over 3.6 kilometers of boards
More than 9,000 kg of recycled plastics
