Our Govadeck boards, made from recycled plastic, form the basis for a smart and flexible solution: the bike deck. These decks are used as temporary or permanent bicycle parking facilities. They are often used in urban areas where scattered bicycles are a problem—think of busy shopping streets, train stations, or event locations. The bike deck can be installed quickly and just as easily moved or removed, making it especially suitable as a temporary test solution. If it works well, it is usually followed by a permanent parking facility.

Case study: Eindhoven chooses bike decks

The municipality of Eindhoven is a great example of how bike decks are used as part of thoughtful bicycle policy. Recently, twenty bike decks were purchased and strategically placed in locations where improperly parked bikes were causing inconvenience. For instance, at hockey club Oranje-Rood: after a successful trial, a permanent bike parking area was set up at another location at the club.
